Illustration to Animation
About the Course
Students will be provided with supplies for this elective. If students have their own tablet, that would be preferred. Students will be asked to create a Google account and have a personal flash drive.
The Illustration to Animation Experience
Bring your drawings to life through traditional and digital illustration and animation. You’ll explore pose, movement, and expression while learning how artists use rhythm and timing to communicate emotion and tell stories.
Through hands-on projects, you’ll experiment with digital tools that transform still images into motion. You’ll explore keyframing, sequencing, and expressive gesture while developing your own short animated pieces.
What You’ll Create
You’ll create original short animations that connect your illustration skills with movement and storytelling. By the end of the course, you’ll have work to share or include in your portfolio, along with a stronger understanding of the relationship between illustration and animation.
