Summer@Cornish is a four-week intensive running July 12–August 6, giving high school students a mini-college experience at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. Students create and showcase original work, explore electives beyond their primary art form, and build skills for further study and careers in the arts.

The Dance Experience

Cornish’s Summer Dance Intensive offers a rigorous, supportive environment for dancers with three to four years of training. Students develop their technique while exploring contemporary styles, street forms, and choreography.

Mornings in the Dance Intensive focus on traditional dance techniques, composition, yoga, and Pilates. Afternoons offer electives in other dance forms, screendance, or improvisational practices.

Fridays focus on audition techniques, performance practice, and preparation for professional auditions and college applications. The program concludes with a showcase of original work for family and friends.

Full-Time and Part-Time Options

The full-time program combines the Morning Intensive with two afternoon electives.

Part-time students can choose the Morning Intensive, one or two afternoon electives, or a combination of morning and afternoon offerings.

Tuition and Scholarships

Afternoon electives start at $730, and the Morning Intensive is $3,160. Register by March 1 to receive a 10% discount.

The Jeanne-Marie Klepper Dance Scholarship

The Jeanne-Marie Klepper Scholarship may be applied toward tuition for the four-week Dance Intensive and two electives.
