Photography Studio
Cornish's 2400 SqFt Photography studio encompasses a large dark room, photo work area, computer lab, and photo shoot space.

John & Mary Shirley Fabrication Studio
The Jon and Mary Shirley Fabrication Studio highlights spaces for digital and traditional fabrication, including wood, metal, mold-making/casting, ceramics, as well as a 3-D specific classroom. Tool and equipment upgrades for the space include commercial-grade laser cutters, 3-D printers, a CNC milling unit, and welding units.

Tool and equipment upgrades for the space include commercial-grade laser cutters, 3-D printers, a CNC milling unit, and welding units. This studio opened in 2023 for matriculated students and will hold several Cornish+ studio classes and certification courses during the 2024/25 academic year.
This transformed facility is made possible through the support of a gift from the Jon and Mary Shirley Foundation.

Cornish's 2,500 SqFt professionally-maintained printmaking studio consists of three spaces: screenprinting, printmaking, and letterpress. The studio includes a multitude of high-quality screens in a variety of mesh, two vacuum presses, exposure unit for photo emulsion, and pressure washout sink. Two Little John presses used for etching and vitreography, a large Takach press which can accommodate a large number of traditional print methods, and a Lithography Press used for aluminum plate lithography. A vast library of lead and wood type, a proofing press, two flatbed presses, two platen presses, a hot foil press, and a gang cutter offer an exceptional experience for emerging and professional artists.

Our 2,400 square foot studio holds open studio time for enrolled Cornish+ students. The studio consists of a photo shoot studio, large dark room, and comuputer lab. Additionally, the photo studio includes a range of digital and analog photography tools. This studio has been managed by photographer Winnie Westergard for over 20 years, and is perfectly equipped for the intermediate and advanced student.

Learn the fundamentals of sound engineering for live & studio performance in Cornish's many recording studios and performance venues. Cornish+ classes for all audio engineering are taught in professional environments supported by Cornish College IATSE Union Staff.

Cornish's movement studios for theater & dance are relocating from Capitol Hill to Cornish's Main Campus in South Lake Union Summer 2024. Cornish+ classes will take place in fully equipped dance & movement studios in MCC, Cornish Common's and the Lui Building.
