Students ages 15–18 will strengthen their musical theater skills and prepare for their next audition, whether for a school production, a theater role, or a college performing arts program. Through individualized coaching and hands-on workshops, they’ll develop their acting, singing, and movement skills while building confidence in their own performance style.

Students will select and rehearse songs and monologues that highlight their strengths, explore character and scene work, and practice connecting with an audience. Mock auditions and constructive feedback will help them refine their material, respond to direction, and become more comfortable with the audition process.

Students considering college-level training will also receive guidance on audition requirements, performance résumés, and personal statements. Throughout the course, they’ll develop preparation habits, professional etiquette, and collaboration skills they can carry into future rehearsals and auditions.

What Students Will Prepare

Students will develop a selection of rehearsed audition material and strengthen their supporting application materials. The course will conclude with a performance showcase where they’ll share selected work and put their preparation into practice.

Students will:

  • Build stage presence and develop strategies for managing audition nerves.
  • Select songs and monologues suited to their age, strengths, and goals.
  • Connect acting, vocal expression, and movement to create purposeful performances.
  • Apply feedback and practice responding to direction during mock auditions.
  • Strengthen ensemble skills, collaboration, and audition etiquette.
