Film 4-Week Program
July 7 - August 1, 2025
Overview
Summer@Cornish is an intensive 4-week summer program offering high school students a mini-college experience. Located in the Main Campus Building at Cornish College of the Arts, students will explore all Seattle has to offer in Seattle's South Lake Union Neighborhood.
Our unique curriculum is designed to prepare students for the arts careers of the future. Rather than only focus on one discipline or perform only existing works, all students create and perform or showcase new work, and have the opportunity to take electives outside of their primary art form or dig deeper into their interests.
Film Program
Full-Day
The Film Intensive morning program is designed to support serious students to build foundational skills for a career in film. Mornings begin with an intensive in cinema’s full range of visual language through creating short films. Afternoons are filled with electives such as film editing, sound design or any other elective in Music, Theater, or Art & Design. Friday mornings, students develop and finalize their materials in Portfolio Development to gain the understanding of what a career in filmmaking is like, as well as applying to a college in the fine arts. At the end of the four weeks, students will present their final group film for family and friends in Cornish’s new Raisbeck Auditorium.

The residential option is available for full-day film students. Learn more here.
Part-Time
Some students may prefer to attend Summer@Cornish as part-time students, selecting a combination of the morning intensive and one elective, only afternoon electives, or even just one elective. The residential option is not available to part-time students.
Tuition
Tuition varies by type of program. Electives start at $730. The Morning Intensive is $3160. Receive 10% off the full tuition by registering before March 1. Tuition needs-based scholarships are available here.

”I loved the program. When I went in I knew almost nothing about film and the program did an excellent job preparing me for other projects I wanted to work on. Summer at Cornish gave me insight on what art education could be like and inspired the idea of pursuing film.”
