Summer@Cornish is a four-week intensive running July 12–August 6, giving high school film students a mini-college experience at Cornish College of the Arts at Seattle University in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood. Students create and showcase original work, explore electives beyond film, and build skills for further study and careers in the arts.

The Film Experience

The full-time Film Intensive helps dedicated young filmmakers build foundational skills through hands-on filmmaking. Mornings focus on cinema’s visual language as students collaborate to create short films.

Afternoons offer electives in film editing, sound design, music, theater, or art and design, allowing students to deepen their filmmaking skills or explore other creative interests.

Friday mornings focus on portfolio development. Students develop and refine their materials while learning about filmmaking careers and preparing for college applications.

The program concludes with a screening of students’ final group films for family and friends in Cornish’s Raisbeck Auditorium.

Full-Time and Part-Time Options

Students can attend the full-time program or choose a part-time option through the Morning Intensive or an afternoon elective.

A residential option is available to full-time students.

Tuition and Scholarships

Afternoon electives start at $730, and the Morning Intensive is $3,160. Register before March 1 to receive a 10% discount.
