The Summer@Cornish Residency Program offers an intensive arts experience for students ages 14-18, providing the perfect opportunity to live and learn in the heart of Seattle. In this 4-week program, participants reside at Cornish Commons, a modern, high-rise residence hall located steps from their classes in South Lake Union. With easy access to iconic attractions like the Space Needle and the Seattle Art Museum, students will engage with the vibrant arts scene while enjoying a supportive residential community managed by Cornish’s dedicated team. 1. Where is the housing located for Summer@Cornish?
Summer@Cornish participants will reside in Cornish Commons, a modern, high-rise residence hall located in South Lake Union, in the heart of Seattle. This residential hall is just steps away from Summer@Cornish classes in the Main Campus Center (MCC).

2. What activities and attractions are nearby?
Students have easy access to some of the city’s best attractions including the Space Needle, SIFF, MoHAI, and MoPop.  Parks nearby include the South Lake Union waterfront and Seattle Center. 3. Who manages residential life for Summer@Cornish students?
The residence life program for Summer@Cornish students is managed by Dr. Brittany Henderson, the Dean of Student Life for Cornish’s undergraduate program. Dr. Henderson, along with a dedicated team of Resident Assistants (RAs), ensures that students have a safe, supportive, and enriching experience while staying at Cornish Commons.

4. What are the room arrangements like?
Students in the Summer@Cornish program will be housed in double or triple rooms , ensuring a collaborative and community-focused living environment. All Summer@Cornish students will be located on the same floor, with two trained Resident Assistants (RAs) living alongside them to provide guidance and ensure safety.

5. Who else lives in Cornish Commons during the summer?
In addition to Summer@Cornish students, Cornish Commons hosts interns from nearby colleges or companies. However, for security and safety, Summer@Cornish students will not have access to any floors housing residents aged 18 and older, including the 24th-floor common area, unless they are accompanied by an RA.

6. What is the cost of housing and the program?
The Summer@Cornish 2025 program offers an all-inclusive package of $9,500, which covers tuition, housing, and meals for the full 4-week experience. This bundled cost provides students with a seamless, worry-free opportunity to focus on their artistic growth while enjoying a supportive living and learning environment. We recommend students arrive with some extra spending money for extracurricular student-led activities.

7. How does the meal plan work?
As part of the program tuition, students will pay $250 per week for meals, which is included in the overall tuition package. Meals will be provided by Bon Appétit in the MCC Cafeteria during the weekdays. On weekends, students will prepare group meals with the assistance of their RAs, fostering teamwork and a sense of responsibility. A weekly shopping trip to a local grocery store will be available for students looking for additional meal options. For added convenience, Whole Foods and various local eateries are located within walking distance from Cornish Commons.
