Scholarship Info & Jeanne-Marie Klepper's Story 

What the Jeanne-Marie Klepper supports-

Thanks to the Klepper family, this need-based scholarship supports Summer@Cornish dance students through their entire 4-week dance Intensive, as well as both electives that allow them to experience the Cornish interdisciplinary arts experience or dive deeper into their dance technical skills through the Summer@Cornish unique electives that fine tune their dance skills they choose to study.

Tuition-

The Jeanne-Marie Klepper Scholarship fully funds all tuition for both the 4-week Dance Intensive + 2 Electives.

Jeanne-Marie Klepper's Story-

Jeanne-Marie Klepper had a deep passion for ballet from an early age, training at various schools before joining Cornish at just eleven years old. A dedicated and intense student, she excelled academically and pursued many interests, with dance always at the forefront. She performed in the Junior Company Winter and Spring Concerts, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to the art form.

In January 2000, Jeanne-Marie was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Despite the immense challenges, she remained determined to dance—her sport, her passion. She fought courageously but passed away on May 13, 2001.

Though she attended CPDP for only three and a half years, those years were profoundly meaningful to her. The Jeanne-Marie Endowed Scholarship honors her memory by supporting young dancers who share her dedication, resilience, and love for ballet.

Summer@Cornish Dance Program

The Dance Intensive mornings focus on dance training in traditional techniques, compositional practices, yoga, and pilates; while afternoons offer electives in other dance forms, screendance or improvisational practices. Fridays are dedicated to audition and performance techniques for professional auditions or college application prep. Students will showcase original works for family and friends at the end of the program.  Summer@Cornish FAQ for more information. 

Residential options are available to students-

Please note that the Jeanne-Marie Klepper Scholarship may only apply to tuition for each student. While funding may support Residential options for students, the primary goal of this scholarship is to support tuition for Summer@Cornish Dancers. Learn more here...
