Students will be provided all supplies needed when participating in the Art & Design Intensive.

In this intensive, students will explore their creative interests through an immersive overview of visual art and design. They’ll strengthen their visual thinking, expand their creative process, and experience what it’s like to work in art and design as a profession.

Through 2D and 3D instruction, students will build core technical skills in drawing, painting, and sculpture, make new friends with shared interests, and connect with potential long-term mentors. Friday mornings are devoted to portfolio development, focusing on real-world artist skills and college preparation. The four-week morning course concludes with a student-curated gallery show.

This intensive can be taken on its own, but it’s designed as the core morning intensive program that pairs perfectly with Summer@Cornish afternoon electives.

We encourage students to add two electives — either to deepen their focus in a specific discipline or explore new creative interests across fields.
