User-Centered Design Modular Certificate Program 

The User-Centered Design Certificate provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of human-centered design, focusing on the iterative prototyping process. Through in-depth research into human motivations and behaviors, students learn to analyze user needs and refine their prototypes to ensure they meet those needs effectively. The modules emphasize the importance of empathy, user feedback, and continuous iteration in design development. By the end of the course, students will have created a professional user-centered portfolio project and developed the skills to present their work clearly and persuasively, demonstrating their ability to apply user-centered methodologies in real-world contexts.

This introductory module examines the role of images in communication, emphasizing how to convey meaning.

MODULE 2 - Type + Image

 

This module explores the role of text as a visual element in design, examining how it can both convey a verbal message and enhance an overall composition.

MODULE 3 - Complex Layouts and Systems

 

This module focuses on creating graphic design in order to engage a target audience.

MODULE 4 - Intro to User Centered Design

 

This module is centered on defining user experience-driven processes. We will explore best practices in the UX workflow and gain insight into the different types of deliverables.
