Discover the riveting creativity of both new voices for Seattle and beloved favorites, including the audacious creations of Bret Easterling, Joseph Hernandez, and Olivier Wevers. Join us to experience the extraordinary as we embark on a journey that will awaken your senses and leave you curious about our WINTER ’24 program at Cornish Playhouse and Vashon Center for the Arts.

Bret Easterling is an international dance artist currently on faculty at the University of Southern California’s Glorya Kaufman School of Dance, Acting Rehearsal Director for Gallim Dance, and the Artistic Director of BEMOVING. He was recognized as a Choreographic Fellow at the inaugural Ann & Weston Hicks Choreography Fellowship at Jacob’s Pillow in 2018 and was an Artist in Residence at LA Dance Project in 2019.

Returning for his third creation for Whim W’Him, Joseph Hernandez is a choreographer and performer once based in Dresden, Germany, and now resides in Portland, Oregon. In 2023 Joseph was appointed NW Dance Project’s first Associate Choreographer. His choreographic work has been presented to critical acclaim by such organizations as Festspielhaus Hellerau, The Semperoper Ballett, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, Theatre St. Gallen (Switzerland), NW Dance Project, and more.

Completing the program with a powerful new creation is Founder and Artistic Director, Olivier Wevers. Winter ‘24 plays for four performances at Cornish Playhouse at Seattle Center on January 19, 20, 26 & 27 and at Vashon Center for the Arts on January 25th, 2024.
