Students may bring their laptop if they chose or use our Digital Audio Lab. 

In this hands-on introductory course, students will industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), designed for aspiring producers, musicians, and creatives interested in digital music production. By learning the fundamentals of crafting beats, from programming drum patterns and layering sounds to arranging full tracks, students will be able to create their own projects at any skill level with instructor and peer review listening sessions. 

Through guided instruction and creative exploration, students will gain essential skills in MIDI sequencing, sampling, sound design, and basic mixing techniques. Whether they're a beginner or looking to refine your production workflow, this course will provide the tools and knowledge needed to bring their musical ideas to life. No prior experience is required—just bring your passion for music and a desire to create.
