Songwriting Workshop
About the Course
Students will be asked to bring their instruments of choice for workshopping their songs and performing.
In this songwriting elective, creativity meets collaboration in a supportive and dynamic environment for musicians to grow through peer and faculty feedback. Designed for aspiring and experienced songwriters, this elective provides a unique opportunity to refine your skills through interactive sessions with faculty and peers. Students will engage in hands-on sessions, sharing their original songs and receiving constructive feedback to enhance their lyrical, melodic, and harmonic skills. The course covers songwriting techniques, from idea generation to arrangement and production.
Through a collaborative process and real-time critiques, students will build on their unique voice, grow confidence in their songwriting abilities, and create polished, impactful songs ready for performance or recording. Working in a songwriting environment in this setting will encourage musical collaborations and create an opportunity for invaluable networking.
While this intensive may be taken independently, it is an elective that is designed to work in conjunction with our Music Intensive 4-week program. Please see that description here or email plus@cornish.edu if you have any questions.
