About the Course
A sketchbook, pencils, color pencils, pens, paints such as watercolor or gouache. Optional: glue, scissors, markers.
Sketching, illustrating and painting in a sketchbook is a wonderful way to open doors to your imagination, get to know yourself better and at the same time, release the stories hidden within you. It allows you to shake off any perfectionist ideals and create from the heart with a light hand and sprinkles of humor. In this course, students will learn how to generate ideas, use reference images or personal experiences to guide your artistic voice and style. You will also learn about storytelling, composition, character design, how to layout a book and thumb-nailing, all about bleeds, gutters and page layout/design. It is a wonderful stepping stone to the world of illustration.
