Learn to build with friends an family! Student in this workshop will build and embellish a small planter for patios and decks, with the intention of starting and growing appropriate vegetable and herbs. Many vegetables, such as lettuce and kale, radishes, and even beans, can be grown successfully in smaller planters. 

Many herbs can also be grown in the same size planters. If outdoor space is unavailable, the planters can be scaled down for windowsills or other interior places, proved the supply of daylight is sufficient. The planters can embellished with wood burned designs and patterns, and a trellis may be added to support climbing plants, and for draping shade cloth and frost blankets.
