In this class, students will focus on the fundamentals of welding and steel fabrication for creating functional pieces and sculpture. Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of MIG and oxyacetylene, plasma cutting, and explore steels plasticity with various shaping and bending tools. Students will learn to cut, shear, drill and weld safety with both sheet and bar stock.
Weekly demonstrations and mini project prompts will encourage practice of these new skills and help students transition to a project of their choosing.
