In this class, we will create an abstract-landscape with mixed media in a 6 x 4 inch, 10 panel accordion sketchbook. Sometimes known as leporello, a concertina fold, or a zig-zag fold, this is a method of parallel folding with the folds alternating between front and back. It is quite commonly used as travel souvenirs, depicting beautiful, panoramic scenes of the places travelers had just seen, customs and culture of the region. This format creates a unique experience of making a continuous image and playing with composition which can be purely visual.
